We did not meet Fred Hush in a trendy nightclub, he is not a recluse genius who sent us demos with spooky letters with the hand writing of a serial killer. no. we met him in a club on the French Belgian border where partying comes first, music second, good or bad. when he played that “definition track”, Ivan smagghe freaked out simply because it reminded him what house music (dare we say “old school house music”) was all about: simplicity. since then we’ve been very busy. and Fred too... Ivan thinks he is one of the most talented European producers around (watch for the monsters coming out on übercool label “rush hour”).

On ne présente plus cette figure emblématique de la scène club belge qui réjouit les clubbers chaque week end à l’H20 Club notamment. FredHush s’est distingué dans ses productions par des tendances Soulful-Minimale très remarquées sur la scène underground internationale. Apres Prestige, sorti sur Circle Music en Allemagne, voilà son nouveau single, sorti sur son propre label, The Palm Beach Records. Avec ses sonorités Disco et ses vibes plus actuelles, c’est un savant mélange dans la lignée de la tendance Disco-House qui sévit depuis quelques mois. Sienem Buddy Frank Noseda gibt der Belgier dj Fred Hush sein debüt auf Hell Yeah recordings. Der opener “White Noise” ist ein peaktime Stück, wie man es von Hell Yeah eigentlich gewohnt ist. Minimal, perkussiv und treibend. Reduziert auf eine hookline die durch geschickte akzente aus der Reihe fält. Klingt irgendwie nach letzjährigen Dufire veröffentlichungen. Dreht man die scheibe ertönen auch de b seite mit ‘Classic” altbekannte töne. Eine mischung aus Extrawelt meets Oxia mit zwischenzeitlichen stakkato passagen. Wie gemacht f¨r die Tanzfläche und schon gespielt von leute wie Steve Lawler oder auch Marc Romboy. By Patrick S

Fred Hush White noise EP Hell Yeah records

On peut dire que l ami Fred Hush a frappé fort cette année, car après une release sur Rushhour et Kill the DJ (label d Yvan Smagghe), Fredrevient avec une nouvelle collaboration avec qui il signe sur un des sous label de Mantra Vibes , vous l aurez compris « Hell Yeah records ».Fred et Noseda nous on desservi ici deux titres à tendances minimale-electro house, taillés pour un dancefloor plutôt averti. Il faut dire que cette nouvelle release est déjà playlisté et joué par de nombreuses têtes d affiches  du genre : Steve Lawler, FaFa Monteco, Radioslave , Marc Romboy …Vous pouvez retrouver ce nouvel opus en format vinyle et au format digital depuis le 20 août .

Restless Way

Depuis longtemps résident à l’H2O Club en Belgique (boite frontalière du nord de la France) et considéré comme un simple DJ  house pour mega clubs, Fred Hush commence à se faire connaitre depuis peu par le milieu plus pointu et underground à travers son autre facette, celle de producteur. Il sort d’ailleurs régulièrement des maxis sur des labels essentiels comme Rush Hour, Hell Yeah (il y a une chronique de son dernier maxi un peu plus bas) ou notre Kill the Dj  national, notamment avec le morceau Definition track ,repéré par Ivan Smagghe lors de l’un de ses passages en Belgique et qui a entendu Fred le jouer. Il a craqué dessus et l’a fait signé. Il est d’ailleurs considéré par ce dernier comme l’un des meilleurs producteurs actuel (rien que ça!).

La musique de Fred Hush contient tous les éléments indispensables à la création d’un bon (voir très bon) disque de musique techno moderne. Sa dernière production pour le label  Hell Yeah en est le parfait exemple. Il a un son à la fois sexy, dark et deviant mais tout en restant classe et groovy, un peu comme ses prestations Dj où on ne sait sur quel pied danser. Une chose est sûre par contre, c’est qu’il risque bientôt de devenir incontournable dans le paysage électronique à venir.

En cette période de trève estivale, les sorties de disques se font plus rares, les rues sont désertes alors qu’en même temps, la France entière s’agglutine sur les plages de Juan les Pins et St Trop’ et que les jeun’s vont guincher sur de la tekto-trance-rnb à la discothèque du camping de la tong d’or. Pour vous aider à patient jusqu’à la rentrée  et vous mettre quelque chose de valable dans les oreilles, voici la sélection de disques à jouer N°6 by RW   

 Fred Hush & Noseda - White Noise / Classic (Hell Yeah records - Italy)

On aime bien les productions du belge Fred Hush (un article lui est consacré ici).Cette nouvelle sortie confirme encore un peu plus le talent de ce DJ /producteur, spécialiste des ambiances à la fois pesantes et énergisantes. White Noise, en est un parfait exemple. un groove imparable combiné à un break qui rend n’importe quel auditoire hystérique , c’est la combinaison gagnante à coup sur.

Fred Hush & Noseda, whose ‘Kanibal’ is so federative Belgium should use it to reconcile it’s linguistically, culturally, and economically divided population.

Piccadilly records (London)

The second of this weeks Rush Hour Ltd 12's comes from Fred Hush & Noseda. "In The Dark" is a sparse tech house number without much of a big synth line it's all about the crisp beats, manic FX squiggles and a lot of spaciousness, until the big wonky analogue bit in the middle. Bonkers! On the B-side "Kanibal" is a tough edgy house number built of a wonky groove, again manic percussive noise, and clipped beats until it all goes off with a huge synth swell, after this it just keeps building and building in a very eerie way. Top stuff again.

Definition Track Fred Hush - Kill The DJ (Paris)

Fred Hush appears on Kill The DJ after his last outing on Rush Hour LTD. This time we still get a similar sound, up-tempo tech house crossover, ace stomping groove and a brilliant breakdown which hooks you in for the metalic beats to hit you double hard when they re-appear. On side-B Jennifer Cardini puts in a remix which is based round a clock like drum set, with a whoomping bass sound and some eerie darkness layered up on top.
